Stayed at Faidherbe in the family (quadruple)room with teenage children. Room in need of a little maintenance but really not as bad as some reviews make out. The hotel staff really try hard to make you feel welcome and are very helpful. I don't speak much French -but Olivier made up for that with her proficient English. Do book the continental breakfast - it is good value for a meal to start the day and there is plenty of it. Bookable secure parking a short walk away but some reviews indicate this is not necessary. I felt safe having the car locked up though. Hotel perfectly situated for a stroll to the harbour, beach, old town (a fairly brisk uphill walk) and a number of great restaurants in the nearby square. My teenage kids even found some good shops for clothes etc. The traffic noise from the main road can get a bit loud come 6am but it was bearable. All in all - I found that the hotel was not as bad as some reviewers indicated and it is good value - if you want luxury be prepared to pay for it!

I have stayed here a few times and would highly recommend. The staff are always so friendly and the miner bird in reception always manages to make me smile. Great hotel.

The service and assistance from the staff was 10 out of 10. Could not have been better.
Rooms were smallish but not too small. Some ensuites were a bit cramped but if you want that facililty in an old central location it is quite acceptable.
Location was perfect for tourists.
There did not seem to be any parking space available at the hotel, so we were pleased that we had reserved a space in a secure garage prior to arrival.
There is no restaurant but a buffet breakfast is served in the lounge.

This funny little hotel is situated right next to the ferry port and the bus station. A very noisy bird lives in the foyer but is moved in the morning when breakfast is served there in rather crowded conditions. However overall we found the hotel to be comfortable and convenient.
