“Cheap but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

Pros and cons to consider before choosing this hotel:

It's very cheap if not the cheapest hotel in the area. Location on the tripadvisor's map is not the same as the real one. The hotel is located not far from a motorway which might be a problem if you want to keep your window opened. It's not far from large shopping centre Auchan if you fancy buying French wine or other delicates. It's about 4-5 km from the city centre in ruther an industrial area. Rooms are NOT on suite, toilets and showers are situated in common areas which is very inconvenient. Somehow I missed it during my booking, thankfully we did not stay there long. The room itself was very clean and staff very helpful. It would be recommended to those who look for a cheap short stay but if you want something more this place is not for you.

“Enjoyed Our Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

We stayed here at the begining of our holiday in France and on the very last day. The rooms were very clean and tidy and the staff very friendly. We purchased the breakfast, which was adequate for the money (Coffee, Jams, Bread, Hot Chocolate, Cereal). A microwave is available for use if you need to warm anything. You can also get pizzas delivered.

The location was fine and we walked to the Auchan Supermarket via a cycle/footpath path which runs directly in front of the accommodation (From main entrance walk across grass turn right and walk until you reach a mini roundabout and take a left turn down (under a bridge) towards the supermarket complex). For keen cyclists, the cycle route (turn left) takes to you Bolougne Sur Mer).

We had a meal at the Auchan supermarket which was fantastic value. On the Auchan site there is a McDonalds and a Pizza Restaurant. It is a fantastic place to shop and buy petrol, which we did the day of our departure. We had no issues with the accommodation and our teenage daughter (13yrs) was more than happy to stay here.

“Overnight stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 April 2011

We used to use Formule 1 's years ago and then progressed onto Etap. However things change and we have to budget accordingly and as we need 2 rooms now for Nanny, we have to make some cuts!
The hotel was clean and immaculately presented.
My sons were happy as they could use the free WiFi and the flatscreen TV was a welcome surprise.
Its amazing what difference the service can have on your stay so 5 stars also goes to the lady that greeted us at reception.

When i have a short shopping trip to france,i always stay at this hotel as it is the cheapest i have found, the service and rooms are always excellent and the location is easy to get to.
I have always found the rooms clean, the beds well made ,and the Lcd television and free WiFi are a bonus. The breakfast is simple but an ideal starter to the day.The staff i have always found very helpful especially to whose of us who know very little french or none.

“You get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

We paid EUR32 per night for two nights in Boulogne. It is by far the cheapest hotel chain in the Boulogne area, and is good value for money - if you want a basic overnight experience. The location is awful - middle of an industrial estate next to the dual carriageway. Not easy to find and that wasn't helped by the location on the Accor website satnav "Points of Interest" being wrong! Use the address and you will find it.

Rooms - big enough (bunk above double bed for 1 child); breakfast fine; clean and tidy and all newly decorated inside. (Outside looks grim but they are starting to work on that).

Although the Auchan shopping park is just the other side of the dual carriageway it's a 2-3 mile round trip by car and not obviously walkable either. Nowhere much nearer to eat dinner - but at Auchan there is McDonalds, Flunch, and various other reasonable value venues.

I'd stay there again, but would only recommend it if you want cheap, value for money, simple accommodation.

Free wifi though!
