Stayed one night, comfortable, good location and excellent hosts. Would recommend!!

We stayed for a night on our way back to the Eurotunnel. We had a clean ,comfortable family room. the staff were very friendly and breakfast was fine (if a little pricey - as most hotels are nowadays - their is a nice boulangerie next door if you fancy croissants and want to save money). Good central location for restaurants. Overall, a very comfortable stay in a nice city hotel.

Stayed as party of two couples and really enjoyed the stay. Hotel is very clean, and staff very friendly and helpful. Just minor qibbles: good to have tea/coffee facilities: but no milk provided. I suspect we needed to ask, but reception is not manned at all times. Parking is available in local underground garage: not many spaces and very tight access, so our Mondeo just squeezed down into the entrance. Bathrooms seemed very new, but one shower leaked dramatically through the door, and our shower tray did not drain properly. Beds were very comfortable if firm mattress is ok. Paid for the breakfast, 7 euros, and it was fine: one croissant and then plenty bread, cake, cheese, cereal, fruit etc. Lovely coffee.
Would return if in the area. Position is very good: accessible to local restaurants, shops and short walk to harbour area. Market on Saturday is nearby: very traditional and good fun.
Medieval walled part is short walk but steep hill: approx 15-20 minutes depending on fitness and distractions!

Have been noting the reviews and find that I have not written one. Have stayed here for a few days and then a single night. On each occasion the staff are excellent and breakfast is very good. Many restaurants in the area to eat in the evening, one only a few yards from the hotel. Previously we always stayed at the Ibis, but now always stay here as we will be doing this year again. There is secure parking but this needs to be booked.
