The hotel is basic. 2 star covers it nicely. Clean and comfortable but very basic. The location is ideal being right on the square. We booked three rooms which were all quite small. The owner was pleasent but hovvered around whenever we were in the foyer.
The stairs are steep and tight, with no lift recommend you travel light.
Location good, prices average, hotel dated.

We droveinto the main square of Arras after coming from visiting war graves in the Somme.
As we did not have a hotel booked we luckily found a car park in the top of the square, and noticed a hotel sign. Being right on this fabulous square we imagined that the prices would be huge, but they were listed on the front window and we found them lower than most 2 or 3 star hotels we had been staying in.We were lucky to get a front room with big french windows opening onto the square on the first floor. There are no lifts, so minimal baggage is best.The owner speaks good english, and offers coffee, juice and soft drinks at all times for you to help yourself, A very historic building but in clean and good condion, and wow.. what a position.

Fantastic location - overlooking the historic central square (there are two squares, adjacent to each other but this particular one is the nicer of the two). The square is home to a variety of character restaurants, pubs and shops each reflecting the Flemish architecture of the period. The hotel is cozy and has loads of character as well, feels more like a residence than a hotel. The owner/operator is a helpful and genuine individual. The service is top quality as is the food that is available.

Arrived from CDG, quite tired. the proprietor was helpful as we had two large suitcases. A tiny room-we're familiar with this but there wasn't even a chair -the room is so small. Hardly any place to put anything. Didn't get any replacement towels (there weren't any in the little storage closet) and really had to go through a grilling to get some.
Had to look about on a patio drinking beer for longer than we wanted because we dreaded going back in there. Our first night we had to listen to endless talk and laughter from an apartment directly behind our room but that's life.
The bed was very comfortable.
The breakfast was great!
Refreshments offered upon arrival along with a large bottle of water for our room.
Convenient parking free from 6pm to 9 am. (2 hrs. max otherwise).
Ever present owner who tried to be helpful and somewhat pleasant.
Excellent location for exploring-we walked to the Wellington Quarry-an excellent tour I might add.
