The hotel is very centrally located beside the Cathedral and a short walk from the main shopping streets. The check-in was very smooth, hassle free and welcoming. The staff were very pleasant and when my flight was cancelled due to a strike the receptionist was very helpful.
The room was clean and comfortable with tea and coffee facilities available. The decor was slighty worn in places but overall it was a pleasant stay and the hotel reception area and terrace has a certain old world charm. We didn't eat there or have breakfast but there is a lively café across the road with a very sunny terrace and reasonable food. It would have been good if the hotel had offered a lunch or dinner menu.

Myself and my husband stayed in this hotel from 10th to 13th May. We found this hotel to be very clean and comfortable, the room was a good size and the facilities in the room were great. We found only one of the staff member to be very helpful. The restaurant across the road (The Collones) was wonderful, the food was good and very reasonably priced.

We stayed in the Mercure Hotel during the middle of October. It is a nice hotel and very well located. The check-in and check-out was quick and easy. There is lift to the floors and the rooms were large and quite. The bed was very comfortable and we had extra pillows in the wardrobe. There was a safe in the room and tea/coffee making facilites. The wash room was large with a nice shower and removable shower head. There is free wifi internet all over the hotel.

I have read complaints here about breakfast in this hotel, but cannot agree with them. Perhaps the manager also reads these pages and made improvements. The breakfast room is beautiful. It has lovely paintings and beautiful decor. There was a large choice of continental breakfast items, with lovely breads, cheese, fruit, meat, juice, etc. I have only one minor fault. When we ordered scrambled egg, it came as if it had been made up before and frozen, to be microwaved when requested. Just give it a miss as there are lots of things available on the buffet table. At 12 Euro it is neither cheap nor expensive compared to other hotels, I have stayed in.

There is a large bar in in the same block. I think it belongs to the hotel, but I am not sure. The hotel is right in front of the large cathedral and within easy walking distance of the restaurants and shops. It has very little private parking, but we had no trouble finding street parking on the street. Street parking is free outside business hours, but check the parking signs to be sure.

We booked the Mecure for one night - our morning flight from Rodez to Dublin required that we spend a night in Rodez before dropping the rental car back at the airport.

Check in was swift and the lady at the was friendly, she told us about the breakfast but said we didn't need to decide until the morning.

The room was spacious with modern decor, bathroom was a good size and again was modern - pretty much what you'd expect of a Mercure hotel. Location was good but we weren't planning on doing much exploration of the city. We ate in the bar / bistro across the road and had a lovely meal there.
All in all, nothing to complain about - it did exactly what it said on the tin and all for €71 including free parking.
