Good news - easy to find, parking in nearby church overnight (you will need to buy a ticket if you are leaving after 8.45) and it's central to the town. Breakfast good with friendly service and check-in efficient. Room good size and facilities OK.
But . . .
We were going to eat in (the dining room is actually in the adjacent Mercure (think of this IBIS as a semi detached)) but having initially been put off by the, um, ambience - think school dinners - we gave up waiting to give an order and went elsewhere. Adequate choice in easy walking distance.
Back to the room where I killed a few large earwigs (at least I think thats what they were) before retiring. Odd, slightly greasy feel to the sheets.
Bottom line - I generally rate Ibis quite highly as a good value, better than budget chain. This hotel fell short of their normal standard. No criticism of the staff especially the very friendly lady at breakfast.
