Two couples, stayed for 2 nights demi-pension. Lovely rooms (we chose the superior version for a little extra) quiet and comfortable. Good breakfast buffet - better than usual French minimal type - only the poor quality orange juice let it down. Evening meals good but no choice on demi-pension - daily menu is posted the evening before so you know what is coming and whether you need to go a la carte. Veg soup, entree, main course of guinea fowl one day and trout the next, proper puddings, no cheese. Wine by pichet reasonable, or from list around 20 euros for local Jurançon. Would definitely return, although the town of Cauterets is a little tacky and disappointing, the scenery is amazing.

and it was better this time than the first. the family that runs this hotel takes loving care of it and in turn, you. the rooms are very clean and comfortable. there is a breakfast for an additional cost to the room that was delicious complete with homemade jams and cakes. we went hiking everyday and the breakfast was very well thought out for hikers. I highly recomendthis hotel and town for a wonderful vacation.

Very friendly welcome throughout our stay here. The hotel is located right in centre of Cauterets with many bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. The best meal we had however was within their own dining room, a four course meal of good home cooked food with local specialities for 21 euros, Rooms small but very clean and comfortable with free wi fi throughout. Trip to Lac de Gaube is highly recommended and the telecabin and chair lift meant it was accessible trip even for those with creaky knees who don't do steep hills ! Only small blip was the poor breakfast not worth the money and you would be much better walking around corner to a local bar,

If you stay here, and we hope you will, book the demi-pension. The dinners are very good. We used the hotel for a week as a base to explore the Pyrenees. Superb walking from the Port Espagnol up to Lac Gaube + Gavarnie +Pic du Midi. The food was different each evening, four courses, set menu, though when I had eaten enough meat the excellent trout was brought back. Yes the wooden floors can be noisy but this is a minor inconvenience when the welcome given by Thomas, his mother and aunt are so warm. Parking was a bit hit and miss, though never had to walk more than 2-3 minutes. Lots of character and well worth a try.
