After my flight to Cape Town via Heathrow was cancelled due to frigid weather and snow, British Airways sent us all to the Radisson for the night, and threw in lunch, dinner and breakfast so we could start over the next day. After waiting in line and getting chilled to the bone at the airport, I thought I was in heaven at the hotel where I could thaw out in the jacuzzi and emailed my friends that I wouldn't mind staying there for my whole holiday. Not quite true, and BA really deserves the accolades, but it was a wonderful and unexpected interlude. And a charming young waiter was able to put together a delicious seafood platter for me even though I was about the last person to arrive and the lunch buffet had been cleared away.
