We stopped here on our way to Switzerland. As ever the Campanile chain is very reliable, as it was here. Excellent beds and bedding. Super breakfast. Good location. The only annoying thing was smelling someone else's cigarette smoke whilst lying in bad.

Do not stay in this hotel! The actual room was ok and clean, but I got locked in my room! The room locks are very old. I was stuck in my room for about an hour (what if there had been a fire?!) until I managed to call another resident who was walking down the corridor to ask for help. When help did arrive, the staff member was extremely rude and insulting. Instead of apologising (and I was clearly in distress after being locked in my room, alone!) and offering to look into repairing the lock he shouted: "You are the first person to have a problem with this lock! It is not my fault if you cannot open the door!" He repeated this a few times.

So, if you would like to be able to leave your room in the evening, DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!

Comfortable, clean room, good bathroom. Well heated, including the bathroom's separate wall mounted strip heater.
One of the few hotels we came across that offered coffee making facilities in the room.
Friendly, efficient, English-speaking staff.
Good restaurant offering simple, inexpensive meals.
Handy location on the main road into town from the freeway.
Free Wifi in rooms. Free carparking.
Exactly the sort of hotel one looks for along the way on a road trip.

We found ourselves in this hotel room during a European break this spring. It's everything you need, nothing you don't... good ample parking, clean... reasonably priced. One pointer would be to have a map and know the location of the hotel well beforehand. The signage for hotels in St. Avold is hopeless. (I think this is more of a French thing rather the hotel's fault, lol)
