We pitched up in Agde with nothing booked and liked the look of the place so decided to get an apartment for the week. The tourist office were incredibly helpful and sent me a list of apartments at various prices. We then had to go to one of the agents and confirm. Saw 2 apartments and this one was by far the best (think the other was in the Sunset 2 block). It looked like everything was brand new - kitchen (+ all high level appliances), bathroom, furniture etc. We didn't have a balcony but had a set of double doors that opened completely up and had a view of the pool and then onto the sea with the mountains in the background.

Positives: beautifully appointed apartment, location, beaches, view, restaurants
Negatives: noisy (we went at the end of the season and still had to wear earplugs at night), the Azure agency who put a €60 charge on my card for "cleaning" despite the fact we left the apartment as we found it

I last visited here about 7 years ago. Then this was a very sleepy quiet part of Cap-D'adge. In that time they have built on just about every piece of land they can find. The issue is they have not improved the roads into Cap-D'adge. Cap-D'adge is split really into 2 parts, the river being the dividing line. The west side of the river is the family side the other side being the Nudist area.
This apartment block is situated right on the beach. Security is good, but they only ever had one person on reception. When i got there at lunchtime on a saturday it was closed for 2 hours for lunch so we had to wait until gone 2pm. Then it took over 30 mins to get checked in.
We had reserved a 2 bed apartment. Most of the apartments look out over the pool and to the sea. It was only the level 1 apartments that may not get a full view. Ours was on the 3rd floor. But the block is in a "V" shape and we were right in the corner so the view was limited.
The apartments come with most things. But it will not be up to US standards. The kitchen had a hob, dishwasher, fridge etc but the grill/oven was on a shelf over the hob...very strange. No toaster! The bathroom/toilet had no outside windows and smelt of mould. The vents had been blocked off probably to stop the wind coming down the vents.
The beds where narrow, under a metre wide!!! You do get supplied sheets and towels for the apartment, but you have to make your own beds and if your there for more than a week then you to reception on a friday for fresh linen and towels etc. THERE IS NO DAILY MAID SERVICE.
We where there the middle weeks of August. It does get hot here but there is no air con in the apartments. So we slept with the balcony doors open. However, the noise bounces around the place, and everyone else has there doors open as well..so you can hear everything going on in most apartments...if you get my drift!!!!! However by 11pm it is mainly quiet. Deep in the land of sleep you get a rude awakening at 4.30am with the beach cleaner cleaning the sand. It sounds like this tractor is coming through your apartment, why they have to clean it at 4.30am is beyond me!!!
THE POOL IS NOT HEATED. Also, there are no sun loungers around the pool. Why?? There used to be. The grounds are quite nicely kept.
