“Decent hotel - good location.”

Our room was quite big with a very nice, large window overlooking the courtyard area. The room was clean although it was not cleaned every day of our stay (which I didn't mind but I don't think is standard). The location is very good for both the train and bus stations and the older part of town (cathedral etc...).
The reception staff were pleasant and it was very convenient that it was open 24 hours.

“Family Room - Basic but Double Room - Perfect!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2010

We stayed here twice this year. In July as a family and August just as a couple.

The hotel is on the main drag of bars/restaurants but it is quiet at the back (on to lots of jumbly rooftiles and ivy clad walls!) and the lovely high old style front windows are secondary glazed so with both window layes and shutters closed you don't hear a thing!

Our first stay was BASIC! The family room had a double, single and puul out. ....and a TV! A separate WC and bathroom - both clean but rudimentary. Just as most French hotels were 15 years ago! We didn't hang around for breakie as we were on a bit of mission to catch our next connection and shopped at monoprix diagonally opposite for picnic breakfast! Fine!

Second stay (we'd lost kids to granny and granpa!) was much nicer in large, attractive and super comfy kingsize bed and we stayed for breakfast which was standard continental (but no ham/cheese) Great value stay. Nicer bars and restaurants than the ones close by though - go seek!

The lovely owners even found my lost mastercard and kept it safe for me until our return - THANKS

“Good location but room and cleanliness let it down”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2010

I stayed for 3 nights in July. The room was on the small-ish side but OK. It had a pretty old fashioned window overlooking the breakfast/garden area but the floor underneath the window was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The room was dusty and again looked like it hadn't been cleaned recently. The bathroom was old and grubby looking - it could do with a major overhaul. Shower was tiny, with an undesirable shower curtain. The toilet was separate and had a weird sliding door that I refused to close as it felt like being encased in a coffin, it was so small. I saw a silverfish crawling around the floor of the toilet - another unappetising feature.
My guidebook had described this as a 'de luxe' choice in Beziers and that it was one of the better hotels which I did think was unusual at the €75 room rate. The room let this hotel down which was a pity as the hotel does have an olde world charm about it and I loved the stiff night porter who dressed immaculately in his suit each night. Reception staff were friendly. Breakfast was €8 and was fine - selection of cereals, bread etc.
The location is great - right on the main thoroughfare of Beziers and, as it was festival time, there was a market here every day.
From reading other reviews, looks like some rooms have been recently done up so if I were to stay here again I'd ask for one of those.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend this hotel but I would stay here again

“Great service and central location with comfortable rooms - would stay here again.”

Stayed here one night. Had parked car in public underground car park, and then stumbled on this hotel in the main square. Booked in, friendly warm receptionist gave us directions to get out of the car park and round into the hotel car park - could have been tricky given the one way system but we found our way back okay. Getting into their car park was a bit difficult - narrow entrance under the building with security gates into large garage area at rear of hotel. Good clutch control essential! Receptionist offered to park my hotel in the garage - not really too difficult a job but I never like to refuse a charming young chap's offer of help. The hotel's public areas were a bit tired, but the room itself (3rd floor, view of attractive central courtyard and aforementioned garage) was very comfortable. On the small size, but everything you needed, including flat screen TV for continued World Cup coverage. Breakfast was just okay - which isn't much of a compliment in France really. On the whole a good find though and well situated for sightseeing and eating out in the evening. Found the avenue/square outside had a few dodgey looking characters and bored noisy youths in it later in the evening which put us off walking around after dinner a bit. Otherwise, Beziers good for an overnight stay.

“Good central hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2009

Stayed here having walked out of another hotel in same town - see review. Professional staff, very clean public areas. Our room , third floor overlooking town square, was very nice, good view of town centre. Room was clean, bed very comfortable, bathroom and toilet very clean. Despite being in the town centre the double glazing made the room very quiet. Parking, for which there is a charge, is secure but limited. Athough our room was very clean and well decorated the corridor on our floor only looked a little tired, to be honest I suspect it was about to be decorated - the corridors on floors one and two were very well presented. Did not eat in hotel as appeared to be a selection of restaurants in town.
