Booked hotel having read 'Hot Sun, Cool Shadow' (Angela Murrils) in which its mentioned. Described as basic but pleasent. I am used to camping, hiking and hostels but this place was a disgrace- do not even think about staying here. The reception area was very dark, the check in desk was run by young teenage boys who appeared more interested in watching tv. The stair carpet was threadbare, an unpleasant smell loitered in the hall way and public area, our room could not be locked, the bedcovers were stained, the floor was sticky, towles dirty and what appeared to be pubic hairs in the sink. The toilet, bath and handbasin were stained. Quiet frankly it made me feel sick. My french is somewhat limited but I think the boys understood I would not be staying here - walked out within 3 minutes and required a stiff drink to recover. Stayed in more expensive Hotel round the corner - fantastic - see review. Morale = check Trip advisor, book was 6 years old, things have changed. Neil Steff.

I'm afraid this is possibly one of the worst stays I've had anywhere. The room was booked for me by afriend who lives in Beziers and I stayed for 9 nights. Where do I start? The room was in a poor state: chipped, cracked and missing floor, sink and shower tiles, bedding not changed during my stay, towels changed on the 7th day, room 'cleaned' on only 4 days, bed was very old, uncomfortable and along with the uncomfortable bolster pillow, also smelled. The bedding had holes and the table was covered in cigarette burns hidden beneath an old scrap of fabric. The shared toilet had no seat, toilet paper ran out and was not replaced.

And finally, the reason I would not recommend this place to anyone: I got scabies from the bed, as diagnosd by my family doctor. This unpleasant skin infection (caused by mites living in old furniture) will take weeks to heal - an on-going reminder of a really unpleasant experience.

hotel looked ok from the outside, no parking facilities, very very tatty on entering, the receptionist was very polite, the en suite room was awful, cigarette burns on the thread bare carpet and on the bed sheets, the bathroom had no lighting and appeared very un savoury, it felt so dirty and creepy we had to sleep with our clothes on, as we had only booked for 2 nights while on a house hunting trip we checked out the following morning as soon as the reception was open,not recommended at all, only if you are totally broke and on the french social system as a homeless person
