“No transportation at night... no fun!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2010

I have stayed there for a fews days for the Paris Maison et Objet show at the Parc des Expositions in Villepinte. Anyone going to the Villepinte Expo centre should not stay there unless they have a car. Unfortunately...it is not a nice area. It was impossible to get a taxi at night at the Villepinte RER station.. (no bus either.. in a very dangerous area!) If you go there.. don't expect to go out at night unless you pay a taxi from the airport (30 euros) or Paris.. (minimum 60 euros!) ...
Next year, we will stay in Paris and take the RER B every morning.. so we can enjoy both the show and dining in Paris!
The room was very humid and wall were made of cardboard. We had to ask for a heater to get rid of the dampness... Really not great for the price!

“Great room”

We were put up here for 1 night due to a plane delay.

The room was very clean, has a bath, overhead shower, tea&coffee making facilities.

Rooms are like a block of flats where entry to rooms are straight from complex parking area so no security if you are travelling alone.

Staff in the reception in the next block were very friendly and helpful.

The restaurant was fine, there is also a pizza place and other restaurant on complex. .

There is free internet if you have your own pc

There is a supermarket just across the main road.

I really enjoyed my 1 night stay here.

“Tricky to get to, but a cheap stay, close to Paris”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2008

We booked our stay through Eurostar's website.
Do not opt for the Paris Visite passes from their webite, as you will only get a Zone 1 to 3 pass. You need a Zones 1 to 6 in order to travel to Villepinte. Buy one when you get to Paris instead, from an RATP office (at most stations).

Campanile Villepinte is not easily accessible from Villepinte station. Get off one stop before at Sevran Beaudottes, on the RER B line to CDG. Take the number 1 bus to Espace V, or the more frequent number 15 to Lycee Rostand, then walk the remaining hundred metres. If you are feeling fit, you can walk it in 30 minutes. Just ask for directions to Espace 5.

Forget about getting a taxi from either Sevran, or Villepinte stations. There aren't any. You'll have to phone for one, then explain in detail (in french) where you are, and what you can see in front of you!?! Then they'll hang up on you.

If you are travelling back late from Paris to the hotel, you'll be walking to the hotel, as buses stop at 8pm round there.

This place (esp station)is well suburban, but quickly improves as you round the corner near the Carrefour and Peugot garage. So if you are easily intimidated by unfamiliar places, make sure you know where you're going for sure, so you can get a head start walking. Get on google maps, and familiarise yourself with the route (I was lucky, I had a GPS device to fall back on and ended up walking my rolling suitcase the 2.9km to the hotel when I had given up trying to figure out the buses and taxis).

We didn't eat at the hotel, so can't comment on the food. However, service was good, the room was clean and warm, hot water in abundance, with a TV and mini kettle.

For good food, look out the back, and head for the Buffalo Grill with the illuminated red roof. English speaking waiters on hand, and really good value, tasty burgers and steaks. Or there's a Chinese buffet off the roundabout about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. There's also an ATAC supermarket right opposite (don't forget, you have to buy your carrier bag for 10 cents). This serves well for a cheap breakfast, and picnic supplies to take with you for the day.

“Extremely bad”

The buffet for the breakfast was almost empty (no baguette, no fruit, no sausage, no mineral water, no water for eggs, no milk).

The waiters were having their breakfast at 8.30: no good idea to disturb them.

On paying the bill and after we shew the very light breakfast, they said because we were late (8.15 !): on sunday, breakfast begings at 8.00. Then they said because two coaches full of people were there before us.
Anyway, we had to pay the full price for the two coaches of people who emptied the buffet for us.
