Okay so I found this looking on the accors website and actually looking for ibis or the cheaper formula ones since there was a few of us but found the novotel suite weekend package at £202 for a massive suite room. Booked two rooms one for my sis her hub n 2 kids aged 14 and 11 and 1 room for me n my hub. Double beds spacious, with extra mattress underneath along with sofa bed, all comfortable, lovely bathroom with bathtub and shower, hairdryer etc and seperate wc! Suite Box TV includes normal TV along with Movies about 70 including latest films, internet access on tv too with keyboard. Room also has own mini fridge, kettle, bottle of small evian complimentary and even microwave! Pretty impressive actually! Double bed along with bathroom can be split off by the use of bamboo style room slides so you can spplit your kids off for added privacy. Ample space in room with table and chairs to comfortably eat.
Free wifi code given at reception however make sure you go into the internet on your phone and you will see a message in the browser click on the british flag so you can read in english it basically asks you to accept the t&c and click on accept to access free unlimited wifi via the hotel. Wifi wont work until you do this as we kept trying our apps on iphone and then I figured that I had to accept first through safari on my phone.
Breakfast was great actually, really tasty croissants, pain au chocolates albeit mini ones but ask them and they bring you more. Selection of various bread rolls, orange, apple juice, water, high quality darjeeling tea bags, machine for hot watter and coffee etc. Couple of cereal selections but main thing was selection of yoghurts, cake options and nuts and various different things actually and even boiled eggs.
So to be honest really dont know what people were complaining about this hotel. For less than £70 a night inc breakfast in zone 2 Paris, was an absolute bargain.
It is a 5-10 min walk from the RER line B station La plaine Stade de France, which is on the line direct from airport and takes about 20-25 mins from airport. Then on the fast train its 10 minutes to the central zone 1 Gare du nord station and very easy to catch metro to all around central paris. Also as its Zone 2 its cheaper to get the travel card. We bought the Mobilis travelcards which are significantly cheaper at 6.30 euros for the day compared with the Paris Visite card which is about 10-11 for same zones. The only difference is paris visite is a tourist specific travelcard and gives you a bit of discount at selected attractions and museums in paris. Also on weekend and bank holidays you can buy tickets Jeunes for under 26 year olds which is 3.50 day travelcard otherwise mobilis doesnt have child discount.
Few cafes around a couple of streets away great indian restaurant with fairly good prices 8 euros for a curry an 2 euros per naan or chappati curry enough for 2 people other than that hotel sells food which can be warmed up in microwave along with drinks etc.
So there you go, I thought it was a fantastic stay! Right opposite the Stade de France, similar to London Wembley!
Au Revoir!
