Good stop over when travelling via Orly airport.
Free shuttle bus, the breakfast is a bit expensive. The evening meal was good, room was clean and the usual Holiday Inn standard.

I have very low expectations of an airport HI, and some of the reviews here have been less than complimentary. Last week I stayed in both the ORY and CDG HI properties, and this one is a far better property, surprisingly.

As a Platinum, they upgraded all 4 of the rooms for myself and my companions, to an American sized room, with a full bath/shower. The staff were a bit meh, but the property excellent, the restaurant quite serviceable, and I had no problems with the shuttle at all.

Overpriced for what it was, but, as in all things, take into account that one is in Paris.
Compared to the other immediately local alternatives in the same price range (Mercure, etc) this is a very pleasant property.

The hotel itself was fine. We have no gripe about it. However we booked this hotel because of its location near Orly Airport and because they provided free shuttles. However, when we got to the hotel were we told that the shuttle begins at 6AM. As we had to be at the airport by 5:30 AM we were told that the hotel would arrange for a taxi, but at our own expense. I enquired as to how much I should expect to pay and the desk said 10 Euros and not more than 15 Euros.

In the morning we were in the lobby waiting for the taxi. An unmarked grey van pulled up and the driver came looking for us. I was a bit surprised to see an unmarked vehicle and was a bit reluctant to take this "taxi". The driver did not appear to be familiar with the route to the airport as he was driving along backroads and not the main road. Then when we got to the airport, he could not pass through the security gate as he was not authorized to activate the arm. To our surprise, he then drove over the median and around the security gate.

When we arrived at the airport, he demanded 25 Euros. We said that the evening hotel clerk said that it should be 10 Euros and not more than 15. Fortunately we found a gentleman standing nearby who spoke English and French. He argued on our behalf and the driver settled for 15. The reason we mention this incident is to warn others about unauthorized taxis. Reputable hotel chains such as the Holiday Inn should not use unauthorized taxis when their shuttle is not available. Furthermore, the hotel should have paid for the taxi as that is standard practice with other hotels we have stayed at.
