Air France put me up here after a missed connection.
Check in - very easy, I gave them my voucher and I was on my way to my room.
Room - It was a basic room; the bed was comfortable and the pillows were decent. There was complimentary water in the refrigerator, which had plenty of space for other items if needed.
Restaurant - I had dinner. The service was good and prompt. Tasty food - as it was late, i just had an appetizer and dessert. As with many places in Paris, drinks were expensive... My Diet Coke was 4.50€, which was about 25% of the total bill.
This room was not sound proof and there was a lot of noise from aircraft taking off from CDG. Looked like single pane windows was the probable culprit. I think this would bother light sleepers.
Check Out - initially, the desk agent wanted to charge me for my dinner, claiming it was above the 26€ included with my AF voucher. I'd only spent 19.40€ so I was pretty certain I should not be paying anything...eventually, he realized that someone else's bill was in with the folder containing my room information.
Shuttle - I caught the hotel bus from the train station at CDG. It runs about every 20 minutes and you just need to look for the bus with the right logo/hotel name on it. There was no charge for the bus. Leaving the hotel, the first bus is at 519am, which would affect those with really early departures.
After boarding at the T2 train station, the bus made two other hotel stops first - the Accor and Suite Novotel. From the Mercure, the bus stops at T1/T3 and the AF offices before heading to the R2 train station.
- Mercure Roissy
