We stayed here for 5 nights leading up to Christmas. Decided to stay in Versailles to save some money instead of Paris - spent two days visiting Versailles Palace, a day at Disneyland, and another day taking train in/out of Paris. Was a good base and the price was right for two rooms (one family room at discount rate) for our family of four (older children). On the plus side, the rooms were decent size and quiet. A bit of a walk to town & the Palace but we didn't mind the exercise as the weather was not too cold. The girls did breakfast a couple mornings without us, although we had to have the bill adjusted when we checked out as they charged us when childrens breakfast was supposed to be complimentary. I tried the breakfast buffet the last morning, but was not really impressed - the croissants were ok, the crepes were refrigerator cold, eggs were not real. Would recommend eating elsewhere, or just do the City Breakfast in the bar for €7.
On the downside, the bedding smelled sour - we never quite figured out why this was, but it put us off every night when we had to sleep in the bed. The room was way too hot, and you cannot turn down the heat! So, we opened the window every day when we got back and first thing in the morning. Not a restful sleep as you spend the night kicking off the heavy comforter and putting it back on, etc etc. They need to fix the central airconditioning in the hotel. It seems from past review, we are not the only customers with similar complaint.
But, overall, it is a decent hotel - clean, with good service - and it suited our purposes nicely. We would go back, if they fix the a/c and provide bedding that smells fresh.
