There really isn't anything good to say about this hotel. It is near the port in Paris which is an industrial area. You can not walk around the area and there is nothing to see. The hotel was dirty, our bathroom door was cracked and had holes in it. The mini bar was an open hole. I would not recommend this place.

Desk clerks almost rude - hardly any spoke English - unwilling to give info. Bed felt like you were sleeping on a board about 8 inches off floor; shower inadequate; nice breakfast availability.

We stayed in Mercure Paris Ivry Quai de Seine hotel for 2 days. On the second day which is 10 Sep 08, 13 out of 16 of us got stuck in the hotel lift for 45 minutes. The hotel lift state that it can take 13 person and a total weight of 1000Kg, and so the 13 of us, 8 asian ladies and 5 asian man weighing about 900Kg in total took the lift.

Being confine to such a small area for 45 mins, some of us were near to fainting when we finally got rescue out of the lift. From description of those who are outside the lift, the hotel staff were unhappy with us for pressing the lift bell when we waited for rescue. The managers of the hotel did not even ask about our conditions or apologize when we get out of the life but instead roll his eye ball at us. We heard that they even argued that we are too heavy for the 1000Kg capacity of the lift.

I strongly DO NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. The facilities and breakfast is what you could expect from a 3 star or less hotel.

My husband and I stayed for two nights here on the Paris leg of our Trafalgar Tour. The exterior images of the hotel are quite deceiving. We got a room at the very end of the third floor. Someone was painting the wall trimmings on this floor so the smell of paint was quite nauseating.
The bed was not comfortable, no air circulation, windows didn't open. We called front desk to ask about the heat coming out of the vents when the thermostat was turned down, the girl said that this is how it is and we were stuck.
Closet doors didn't open properly.
Walking distance to a mall with a grocery store and deli shops in case you need food/snacks.
