The location definitely is not glamourous: near the Paris waste recycling and incineration plant and some sort of social welfare hostel, far from the centre of Paris. But on the plus side: no smells or other problems, and one of the larger Carrefour hypermarkets in the Parisian area just around the corner (in the Quais d'Ivry mall, which has a back entrance in the rue J.J. Rousseau (corner rue Westermeyer). Have a look via Google Street View!
The "Résidence" is also (or probably: mainly) used for student lodging, the front desk is not always open (e.g. weekends). The rooms are basic and small, but equipped with high-speed (wired) internet, TV, and a small kitchenette. The nearest public transport: RER station Ivry-sur-Seine or after an uphill walk) metro station Pierre et Marie Curie. I used the RER station to leave in the morning, and returned in the evening to the metro station P&M Curie, so that I could walk downhill to the résidence. The very reasonable price made it a good deal. Don't expect a "real" hotel, it isn't.
