“Excellent choice for a longer stay in Paris”

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in October 2010 (3rd to 16th) while taking a French immersion course. Initially, I was not sure about staying in the area of La Defense. I did not find this to be a problem. The metro is located close to the entrance of the hotel. It is a key metro line M1(the stop is Esplanade La Defense) that takes you to the major sites in Paris within minutes. The RER stop is La Defense. The hotel is located in the business district close to Quatre Temps a large shopping plaza with a grocery store where you can buy your groceries. It is convenient for both tourists and business people staying at the hotel. The area itself is very modern with tall buildings. My room was small but very clean. I had every amenity available for cooking meals. It had a fridge, stove, small dishwasher and a good supply of utensils for meal preparation. The bathroom was large with a nice shower/tub combination. The bed was large and very comfortable. The TV was a flat screen and offered satellite TV. There were many channels available in several languages. I used both the WIFI and High-speed internet access and did not encounter problems reported by past guests. In addition, I used the printer in the lobby with no problems. There are laundry facilities next to the lobby which proved to be a very convenient service for those staying in Paris for a longer period of time. The staff members were very polite and professional during my encounters with them. This hotel provides excellent value for the services provided. I would recommend staying at this hotel for your stay in Paris.

“Good Aparthotel in a fairly good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

We were in Paris for 6 nights. We decided to stay in an Aparthotel to reduce costs for meals such as breakfast and lunch which are fairly pricey in Paris. The locations of this hotel was good - very close to the metro station, and although there is a fair amount of remodelling going on in the immediate area it was well signposted.
The check in staff were very helpful and allowed us to stumble on in French, as it was obvious we wanted to practice. We arrived quite late but it made no difference to the service we received.
The room was of good quality with a proper bed, even though we had booked a studio with a fold out sofa - this is not a complaint, I was very happy. The kitchenette, though very small, was quite well equipped, and the fridge was easily big enough. There are several large supermarkets up near the Grand Arch, so we had no trouble getting supplies.
The only complaint I would have was regarding internet access. The wi-fi signal was strong, and their seemed to be a modem in every room, however the reception staff were not able to simply issue logins and password. It was complicated and a little frustrating.

“Average Apart Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2010

Stayed here for about 2 weeks with a colleague in a studio apartment.

Positives: The apart hotel is very strategically located in the La Defense business area close to all the major offices. Great convenience to business travellers. The Metro station, Esplanade de La Defense is a 2 minute walk from the hotel and allows you to easily travel into and from Paris. The apartment itself has a kitchenette where you can cook your own food. There are about 4 Hindi channels for Indians and some English channels too apart from the usual French ones.

Negatives: We booked through a renowned booking site a month in advance but somehow the booking was not reflecting on the Citadines side. Had to follow 5-6 times and finally through the booking website to get the reservation confirmed. When we arrived at the hotel, again there was confusion regarding the apartment rates and was eventually sorted out by the Manager. The studio is really tiny and not meant for 2 persons. There is hardly any space to move around. The apartment looks a bit worn and old. The major drawback is that the housekeeping is done only once a week and hence the apartment tends to become dirty. Housekeeping too was not very neatly done. Sheets were changed only once during our stay. Need to pay for any additional housekeeping. For the apartment rates that they quote, housekeeping should be atleast twice a week. The narrow hallway smells awful in the evenings when people are cooking in the rooms. Inadequate ventilation, I guess. The internet is wired and only one computer can be connected at a time. Speed is ok. They said that they are upgrading to a new WiFi shortly.

Overall, if you are going on a short business trip alone, this is a good place to stay. Please avoid the studio apartment if you are 2 or more persons staying together. The nearby Frasers where I stayed last time on my business visit is certainly a better bet.

This is one of the budget hotel in paris and reachable to business center, although you will not find indian food nearby but still metro station is nearby. This is a service appartment and you can have your own cooked food. Laundary, iron , brodband, TV connection is avaiable. Best thing is receptionist know English :-)
