The room we stayed in was in a motel-like extension. It was small, without aircon. As the door opened on to the extractor from the kitchen (goodness knows what they were cooking that evening) we had no way of ventilating the room - even opening the window was unbearable.
There are 1st floor rooms, but there is no lift. Breakfast was acceptable, but not special.
Although the room was decorated with attractive fabrics, we thought it very expensive.

We have been to Compiegne probably 30 times from the USA. We always fly in to Charles de Galle and then drive about 30 miles north to Compiegne where we stay in the Hostellier du Royal-Lieu 9, Rue de Senlis, Compiegne Tel [-] Fax [-]. It is owned and ran by Helene et Angelo Bonechi. They have been the owners for at least 20 years. They both speak good English and it has a great restaurant. Angelo is the Chef, but has a great staff. The French come from all over to eat and stay the night. It has about 14 very nice rooms, inexpensive. Best to make room reservations in advance of travel, because it is popular.

Absolutely the best in the Compieigne area and the region north of Paris. Highly recommend it. Close to Chateau Pierfonts and Chateau Chantilly.
