Positives: once inside, the setting is really lovely. You look through the reception and dining room to the terrace and grounds beyond. It's very tastefully decorated with a great sense of calm. The rooms (not sure if all of them) are in a purpose built block, but once inside, again the decor is very tasteful - very French! There are French windows opening out on to the grounds (although you can't go out of them) and the bathroom and toilet were very clean and nicely finished. We had a lovely breakfast in the terrace dining room, with lovely table linen, crockery etc. Very elegant. There is also plenty of secure, free parking on site, which was very helpful.
There weren't many negatives, but are worth mentioning. The only food available apart from breakfast is of fine dining quality - and prices. As we were only passing through, en route to Paris, we would just have liked an informal supper, or a sandwich even, but this sort of food isn't available. We drove the 2miles in to town and had a very pleasant couple of hours in a brasserie instead. We did have a very good bottle of white wine when we returned though! The bar and restaurant in the hotel were very, very quiet, but it was only early April when we stayed, so it may not always be so in high season. The other negative worth a mention was the kitchen (and other, I think) staff smoking outside the kitchen door, by which guests had to pass to get to their accommodation. That doesn't look good at all. But I would definitely stay again, and I would recommend it to others.
