“Fab time!”

We spent 7 days here in June 2011 camping in our own tent.. Well where do I start....we had a lovely drive down from Calais, we avoided auto route as much as we could and the scenery was just amazing! It took us 6 hours to drive down due to the toilet stops (my kids were 2 and 8) we arrived and set up camp, we were allocated a pitch by the pool and despite our initial concerns about the number of stones on the pitch we soon cleared the area and put up the tent!
There is a little supermarket on site which we ordered fresh croissants and bread every morning and a bigger supermarket in the village as well as a lidl!! We also went to the big hypermarket in Amboise which had everything you would need (I did have to go and buy a duvet as it did get cold at night!!!)
The site is lovely and my kids loved the kids clubs and the swimming pool area although the outside pool was a bit cold I did prefer it to the indoor pool which was like a sauna and full of kids!!!!
We ate in the restaurant once which was very expensive and the drinks onsite are as well so I tended to take the kids drInks with us for the evening entertainment. The evening entertainment was very good and the kids even got he chance to put on a show which they loved! There were plenty of games as well for the kids and the entertainers worked hard to get all the kids involved.

The toilet blocks were ok, not the cleanest I've been too but were ok, I think this was due to one block being open for all the pitches (I saw a couple of blocks closed)

Surrounding area was just lovely visited blois which was beautiful and went to the chateaux, also visited Amboise, did find parking difficult on Market day! We went to the zoo as well which was nice but a bit too hilly for the kids on a very hot day!! We also found lots of picnic spots beside the river and found the tourist info shops we visited were really friendly!

Overall really relaxing holiday due to having happy kids who didn't want to go home!!

“Great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

We had a great holiday at this place! Staff was friendly, our home was clean and spaceful. Entertainment was good, facilities were great. Our daughter (2y) had a magic time and so did we!

Room Tip: 3 adults and a little child: we needed a home for 6p (2 bedrooms)

“great for young kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

We spent nine nights early september at Dugny and had a great time. Our children who are aged 3 and 2 had a magic time and thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment laid on by the siblu staff. The swimming pools were great even though the outside pool was a bit cold at times.Staff are very helpful and friendly and the only three faults we found were the restaurant which was awful, no imagination on the menu and very bland tasting. Also some of the local caravan owners unforturnately were not very welcoming and left us with the feeling that we were not really wanted there. The parking outside our caravan was like a swamp by the time we left. Still, has not put us off as we are in the process of booking up to return next june for ten nights.

“great week in September”

We booked the smallest available mobile home for a week in the Loire Valley and paid just over £250 so we didn't expect much...we were very pleasantly surprised. The mobile was spotless, very well equipped and had a lake view as a bonus. The English lady in charge was very welcoming, brought us a chilled bottle of wine and had gone to quite a lot of trouble to get us placed close to our friends mobile. The mobile was a new one probably this season and the bed was SO comfortable. Ther terrace was a real bonus as we could sit out all the time. We didn't have a curtain at the door which spoilt our privacy (our friends had one in theirs) so we asked for one and very soon they brought us one. We didn't use the shop much except for our morning baggette but it was useful if you needed anything. We played cards so didn't see the entertainment...or hear it so it didn't disturb us.
We visited Amboise, Blois (which was beautiful...use the free parking near the river) and several chateaus. We loved Chenonceau, great picnic facilities, and Chambord. We like walking and didn't find France particularly walker-friendly, but we did find an excellent walk from Blere walking west along the Cher, it is about 4 miles to Chenonceau and you see the chateau from the river view, very pretty walk with kingfishers and plenty of bird and wildlife to admire. The campsite is well placed to tour the area and we would go back again.

Room Tip: Ask to be near the lake

“fab site shame about the communal bathroom/toilet facilities”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Loved the area and the site plenty of activities and lots for the children to do. Very dissapointed with the toilet and shower facilities as they were only cleaned once daily and out of 3 toilets in the block only one flushed properly the entire two weeks despite telling staff. Very dirty facilities. Would love to return but unlikely unless services upgraded to ensure toilets are clean.
