Stayed here for a one-night stop-over. When we pulled up we were a bit concerned as it is on a busy main road so we asked to view the room first. The guy on the desk was very obliging and handed us the keys to two different rooms to take a look at. Both had high ceilings, white country-cottage style furniture and large comfy beds but we opted for the room at the back of the hotel away from the traffic. It was silent at night and lovely and dark thanks to shutters on the windows meaning we slept so well we missed breakfast.
Macon itself is nothing to write home about when compared with the other beautiful areas of France we visited on our trip but if you are stopping there then you could do far worse than this hotel. We paid 60 euros for a double room with bathroom which was a lot less than we paid for some decidedly dodgy places elsewhere.
