Pretty, family-run chateau restauant & hotel. Rooms are large, but basic. Food is adequate. Wine list surprisingly disappointing, given it's location.

We haved stayed in five or six chateaux over the last couple of years in France and have enjoed them all. You need to remember that these are not hotels with hotel services, but if you enjoy the French countryside, these stays are a must. We enjoed Chateaux Bellecroix immensely. It is well-situated for exploring the upper Rhone vineyards, the staff was extremely friendly and accomodating and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We stayed in and ate dinner for three nights and enjoyed all three nights. Very nice local wine list. Our room was charming and roomy with a brand new bathroom. And again, the staff really made the differnece.

We were very dissapointed. We made our reservations 8 months in advance to make sure that we got a specific room. During these 8 months, we made it a point to confirm and re-confirm our reservation. When we arrived, our specific room was given to someone else and they wouldn't do anything about it. I will never deal with them again.

Wonderful building although terrible position on a main road close to a non-descript village. The best thing about our stay was the delightful service, but the bedrooms desperately need refurbishing. It looks like they have recently spent some money doing up the reception and entrance stairwell and then ran out before getting to the rest of the building. We stayed in a ‘small’ room which was very small and badly decorated (some years ago...) and had nasty, pink polyester bed linen. A simple coat of paint and fresh cotton linen would work wonders. Several people have raved here about the food, but really don’t bother. For a hotel that sells itself as a gastronomic experience it was dreadful. Could so easily be great, despite the poor location, but sadly let down by a lack of investment and vision.
