Hotel was in a great location with views of the sea and marina-provided you had booked a room with a sea view. Room was pleasant if a tad small-particularly the bathroom(although beautifully fitted out). The balcony overlooking the sea was a real bonus(and sun trap). The more junior staff were extremely pleasant and helpful-more senior staff left something to be desired. Restaurant food was good, if pricey ,although in line with other restaurants in Vannes.

After travelling across France all day, this hotel was just what we needed. Our room was quiet, clean quite large and overlooked the sea with its fantastic views and the balcony was the right place to sit and read a little to get the road out of our bones.

We dined in the restaurant and when we went down for a pre dinner drink, the waiter (and other staff) spoke good English. With our drinks by the doors out into the waterside garden we were brought an amuse bouche. It was a delicious meat pate but my wife doesn't eat meat. When we explained this they immediately went off and brought her a small plate of smoked salmon based canapes.

Dinner in the conservatory restaurant was fabulous with the manager at one point checking all was well. It certainly was! Slept like a log and breakfast the following morning was French, but a well stocked delight.

We were only staying one night and as we were preparing to leave the car park the maitre d from the previous evening was just reporting for duty. He made a point of coming over to the car to wish us a good journey and expressed his wish that he would see us again.

He certainly will!

We were touring Brittany and had booked several nights elsewhere, but weren't too happy when we got there; we rang Le Roof directly and instantly were offered a sea-view room.

When we got there, it was breathtaking! Fabulous view over the Bay de Morbihan, full of boats and lovely scenery. Room was very spacious and had all those little touches that make it comfortable - excellent shower (and bath), plenty of good storage space, a safe, minibar, no air con but a large and energetic-looking fan, pretty, tasteful decor etc. Bed very good, but extremely FIRM!

Restaurant food is first class, though priced fairly and accordingly; brasserie also excellent, with a bistro feel.

Service is splendid in every way: well-staffed, obliging and obviously well-organised since everything was spotless and in excellent condition.

If you want to stay near Vannes, go to Le Roof!

My husband and I only stayed 1 night as we had other plans. Room was large with a large window. Staff were very helpful. Dinner was excellent - one of the best meals we had during our 2 weeks visit to Brittany. Hotel is located on a point of land surrounded by the harbor with a nice footpath. Very nice location. We do plan to stay here again.
