We arrived in Quiberon with a plan to spend the night, but no
reservation. After staring at a tourism guide for a few minutes,
we drove to the portside and walked into the hotel. They quoted
decent rates for 3 kinds of rooms, and gave us a key for the
smallest of the three to help us decide.
We settled on the middle-size, which had a view of the port, a TV,
and enough space. However, the view was only realized when
one was aligned with the short cubby hole where the window
was. As noted in other reviews, the bed sagged in the middle,
and had some kind of plastic cover on the mattress. The
bathroom was indeed a "plastic pod" with very little space to
maneuver - probably a prefab installed when the hotel
transitioned from the old-style with a common WC down the hall.
We ended up spending Eu. 65 for the room, and Eu. 7 pp for
breakfast, which was also just OK.
The staff were pleasant enough - they didn't even ask for a credit
card when signed in - and we had no sort of the unfortunate
experiences with them mentioned in a couple of the
French language reviews.
Bottom line: we felt we did OK for a "walk-in", and things could
have turned out a lot worse.
