We stayed at Chateau Saint-Jean 25 years ago when most of the accommodations were in the old castle building. Now the guest rooms are all in the "annex," apparently built in 1988. We had one of the newly renovated rooms (4 euros extra) which, although lacking the charm of the one we had in the old castle years ago, was clean, efficient, and quiet. The location of the hotel in the park is excellent. For us the highlight was dinner in the 12th century chapel (first mentioned by name in the chronicles of the Knights of Malta in 1118 but probably built earlier). The food was very well prepared and well presented, though the service was a bit spotty. Mozart was being played in the background. Overall a very good value, and worth another stay.
