Lovely, quiet location a mile or so outside Sarlat. Beautifully converted hunting lodge in own, attractive gardens. Our accomodation was in a cottage in the grounds - very spacious, large double bedroom with sitting area, separate bathroom and toilet and connecting single room for our (adult) son. Antique furniture, TV. Large bath but slightly weak shower attachment, also slightly damp smell in toilet/dressing area. Very friendly staff. Drinks served to us at pool - which we used - water cold but clean with several loungers available. Attractive courtyard area outside restaurant with plenty of chairs and tables. Stayed 2 nights and ate in restaurant both nights. Pricey but very well done - excellent service, friendly, efficient. Local menu for 25 Euros was excellent. A la carte (from 35 Euros for 2 courses) had a more adventurous selection of dishes - unfortunately not all combinations worked. My starter of raw scallops and (cooked) red mullet was overpowered by a strong orange jus and my son's main of deep fried pigs trotters, scallops and artichoke puree didn't quite work either. However, other dishes were sublime, well cooked and presented. Wine list was expensive but maitre d obviously knew what he was doing - we watched him expertly decanting an obviously expensive bottle of wine. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay with excellent food.
