We stayed at La Guérinière for a week during summer, and enjoyed the place very much. This is a rather small hotel with only 2 floors, located about 10 km from Arcachon, in the oyster farming town of Gujan-Mestras.
Though not so crowded with tourists like Arcachon, Gujan is actually a good place to stay as it is more quiet and still within 15 mn from the best spots in the Arcachon area. The town spreads for several km along the southern Bassin shores on the main highway connecting Arcachon to Bordeaux.
The hotel is beautifully decorated with taste and houses an excellent restaurant underneath.
Our room was quite large and comfortable with a terrasse overlooking the road. Bathroom was excellent and well equipped. Lots of closets to store clothes. Bed was excellent.
The hotel also has a small pool outside surrounded by the restaurant which is used as a breakfast place as well.
La Guérinière though offcially a 3-star hotel is actually well worth a 4-star, and definitely one of the best hotels around Bassin d'Arcachon which has few.
This is actually fully reflected in prices though.
