The rooms are on the plain side but the staff are really nice and it is located a couple of minutes from the centre of this really great little suburb, Augillion(?). It's about a 20 minute walk down the boardwalk and promenade to the main town or there's a free mirco electric bus that goes about every hour.
There's absolutely everything you need locally and a tourist info that's very helpfull. Our favourite restaurant is The Chipiron, very fresh fish staright from the market. Not the cheapest but great at about 20 euros for a main. Next to this is L'estival, a super little cafe which is great for breakfast at 5.50 euros. Further down the road towards the main town, a 7 minute walk is the Loubine Restaurant. Excellent value, choice and lovely staff.
For a super day out take a ferry trip over to Cap Ferret from one of the piers in Arcachon for about 15 euros rtn. From the pier at Cap Ferret take the little train (July & Aug) to the ocean. The train only takes about 15 mins but takes you straight onto the beach - the view is outstanding, breathtaking and there's some small beach kiosks.
