Looks like a 3-star, performs like a 2-star. The lobby looks swank, but the towels are thin and the beds have cheap linens and pillows, indicating they spent money on appearances but not on true comfort for guests. My room on the street was dreadfully noisy from constant traffic (windows open), so be sure to request a room away from street. Room very clean. Breakfast adequate but nothing special. Jams were served in the large jars in which they were purchased...is that sanitary?...would it have troubled them to decant only what was needed for the meal? Front desk service was impersonally polite (I speak French). Location good for touring Obernai on foot.

Located in a great place but problems with parking place if not paid extra and booked in advance.
Sounds of the (townhall?) clock might be slightly disturbing in the night when you can hear the bells every hour.
Staff very nice if German language or French used, when English used not that nice anymore;). But this goes for the whole region in gernal.
Obernai is a beautiful town and if you like to be in a very center of it, strongly recommend that hotel.
Breakfast good but nothing special.
Rooms quality good but not exceptional.

Delayed review, having just used trip advisor to book a holiday I thought I should write a few reviews…

We stayed in this hotel on a driving holiday last summer, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the beautiful town centre, so handy for going out in the evening for a walk around. We didn't eat in the hotel as we were only staying for one night, there are plenty of restaurants and bars within easy reach.

The room we had was very comfortable and spacious, it also had a balcony which was nice.

The hotel has secure underground parking which is available at extra cost.

I thought this would be a great lovely hotel, but reality was something else... The room on the first floor (standard room) was very small, the airco didn't work, but we couldn't open the window, because our neighbours could come into our room without any problem. There's only a very small cupboard with one shelf. The bathroom has not enough ventilation, so you have to let the door open while taking a shower. The bath has dark corners full of mouth, something I think is unacceptable for a three star hotel. The bed is ok, but the pillows are very thin. You get a code to enter the hotel, but on a Sunday the hotel is already closed at 20.30h. At that moment you get not enter the bar and you only get a telephone number in case of an emergency. The breakfast is ok, but some bread was from the day before. The same person is taking care of everything.

The hotel was ok for one night, but we will not return here.
