“Excellent!”

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in November 2011 with 10 other people from work, we were visting Mulhouse and surrounding areas.

The location of this hotel was absolutely perfect and a one minute walk from the centre and Noel Marche (Christmas Market) and was also less than 10 minute walk from the train station.

The rooms were absolutely spotless and the prices very reasonable. We all stayed on the 3rd floor and i took advantage of the sauna and hammam, they also have a gym and shower.

Breakfast was very good and breakfast area very spacious.

The staff were very attentive and also very patient as a few of our group were a tad "jolly" after a few mulled wines etc in the bar/seating area and got rather noisy but reception staff were very patient & friendly. I would definitely stay there again and would definitely visit Mulhouse again at that time of year, beautiful place :-)

“Quiet and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

Stayed here for one night in October, in the "partie résidence", a separate wing on the third floor. Very quiet and comfortable. Pleasant, airy room, bathroom with tub. Couldn't do better for the price. Recommended.

“Nice base for exploring France and Switzerland”

The main attraction is the hotel's location, literally a minute from the main square, which is lovely.

Hotel interior is fine, nothing spectacular - nearest British equivalent would be a more upmarket Holiday Inn? Rooms not particularly good looking but bigger than average. When we arrived there was a carnival on which meant things getting a bit noisy and rowdy. No big shakes though if you're from Scotland. Staff were a mixed bunch, some friendly, others not. We got a cot for our baby in the room no problem.

Mulhouse not an an obvious choice for a holiday; we came as it has direct flights from Edinburgh. Hotel is 20 minutes from train station, which is handy if you want to explore France and Swizerland. The town of Colmar is absolutely beautiful and an essential day trip, Strasbourg the same although you probably knew that anyway. Basle is the nearest big city. It is is attractive and worth a trip but not outstanding.

Mulhouse struck me as place whose glories are in the past - feeling it was damaged in the war, perhaps. That said, some lovely streets around main square. And while not a huge fan of zoos, this one was worth a visit as it was in attractive parkland and ideal for children.

“Right in the mixer so lack of facilities no problem.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

I bought 40 West Ham United fans on their pre-season tour of Switzerland for 4 nights in July (sorry about the delay). Firstly the Pros :

Great position behind the Church and the main square in a pedestrian area.

Rooms very clean and of a Holiday Inn quality. Some were large but they rather amazingly gave me the smallest one in the house. They offered to change it but i was already unpacked. All other clients were happy with their rooms.

Service was good...and breakfast kept everyone happy (continental) and in a lovely room with a terrace. Nothing hot.

Bar Area was just the reception....not a problem where it was positioned but something they could improve.

All in all...and good value hotel in a very central position.

“Maybe it was just our room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2011

Arrived on a very hot evening to a very efficient welcome from the receptionist who said she had upgraded us from the standard room. The room on 4th floor was very basic with small double bed and rather sad looking furniture. Our air conditioning wasn't working and as the hotel was full we were not able to settle in for over 2 hours while they got it sorted. Had a really uncomfortable night as air conditioning not very efficient. Pillows had seen better days - really lumpy. Glad that I hadn't inspected under the sheet until the next morning as there was no undersheet and the mattress was rather grubby.
We tried to check out at 6.15am only to be told by receptionist that there would be nobody available to take credit card until 7am. Luckily we had cash so were able to check out.
The hotel is in a central locatation and we were able to eat in a local cafe. It seemed that the town can't decide if it is German or Frech and modern or old but OK for overnight stop.
