This hotel is at first look is great, good location, the lobby bar moody with live music all very nice, the 1920's grandeur is fantastic and I cannot fault the friendly and helpful staff.

BUT

Food, (we are there with five), 500 Eur. for what was basically steak and chips served in the bar, restaurant closed Monday, wine was to expensive for the quality.Two of my friends were given rugs during dinner just to stay warm. The heating issue persisted, room cold, cold everything breakfast room. It's a pity this hotel had almost all the components of being a "dream find" maybe their are trying to save costs, though the room charge was very reasonable, please put up the price 20% and buy some heating oil, (and if you show a nice restaurant on the wedsite say when its closed)

The Hotel du Parc in Mulhouse is a lovely hotel with staff to match. The hotel is decorated in the art deco style and feels very old world. The restaurant/bar on the ground floor is very stylish and adds to the overall feel of the hotel.

Our room was a little larger than expected and the bathrooms are kitted out with the expected amenities.

There is a park across the street from the hotel in a quiet part of the city. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the pedestrian area where you will find restaurants and shops.

The breakfast is a buffet breakfast with really good pastries, coffee, juices, cold meats and cheeses, etc. We enjoyed lunch and dinner at the hotel as well and found the meals to be filling and tasty and worth the price. We also dined out one night but had drinks at the bar during Happy Hour. With the pianist playing and the dim lighting, the atmosphere was relaxed and chic, just like the hotel.

Mulhouse, Hotel du Parc,
General:
The hotel is quite posh. It is situated across a park in a quiet neighborhood. I arrived late, so I could not discover all the hotel amenities.

Room:
The rooms are reasonably sized. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is ok, showering has to be done inside the bath tub. The curtains are blinding. In short, the rooms are nice, not something extraordinary. Oh yes, they have l’Occusine (or something) soap.

Parking:
Parking is expensive (EUR 19.00) and can be done in the hotel’s garage. The garage is situated on the other side of the building (turning the corner twice to the right coming from the entrance). But first you have to check-in and then you get a remote control for the garage door. That means you have to find a parking spot on the street first or double park. Not very convenient. The parking garage itself is bright and safe, and has plenty of parking spots.

Breakfast:
French/intercontinental breakfast was ok. There was quite some choice and it seemed complete.

We used the Hotel du Parc whilst visiting our daughter, who is presently studying in Mulhouse. There was no particular reasoning to our choice, we liked the pictures on the website. Dangerous I know,however, we weren't disappointed.

After our experience overnight in London, this was a welcome change.My mood on arrival was compounded by an hour's delay on departure from Heathrow and the loss of some of our luggage.On arrival at the hotel, we were politely informed we were a little early for check in and our room was not ready,so they offered to take our luggage and we headed for lunch!! A fair swap! We returned late afternoon and were given an internal room on the second floor. a good choice I am not a huge fan of rooms overlooking the main street.

We unpacked and settled in, the room was a reasonable size with a decent size bathroom complete with a hairdryer, Mrs M's must have!! You would not believe the level of grief I get if there is no hairdryer.

The lobby and bar area have some pleasant features includung leather sofas and a fire, not a bad place to be when the mornings were a tad chilly.

Each evening there was a pianist in the bar which created a pleasant atmosphere, whilst enjoying an aperitif. We were fortunate during our stay, it was happy hour between 6.30 & 8.00.

We never ate at the hotel, so I can't comment on the food, all I would say is, if it tasted as good as some of the plates looked it would probably have been very good.

We enjoyed the hotel, the staff were polite, helpful and friendly. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoyed our's. I would have no hesitation recommending the Hotel du Parc.
