We booked a room at the Logis Maison Rouge to break up a long drive from Germany to Switzerland; we wanted something "local" rather than a chain hotel along the road.
The pros:
-- Local inn full of "character"
-- Reasonably priced
-- On-site parking, free of charge
-- Excellent mattresses -- we slept well
-- New, renovated bathrooms
The cons:
-- Rooms very basic
-- Rooms overlooking the restaurant and terrace are noisy until the establishment closes up completely for the night.
-- Walls are thin -- you can also hear people in the hallways, adjoining rooms
-- Staff seems a bit overwhelmed
---Breakfast was a madhouse the morning we were there -- noisy and crowded.
This hotel was fine for our purposes, but if I was making a weekend out of exploring the Alsacian WIne Route, I'd stay probably stay somewhere a little more restful.
