“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We stayed at the Miramar Boutique Hotel at the tail end of the 2011 summer season in mid-September. The hotel itself is very charming, built on a hillside overlooking the bay. There is a road between the hotel and the beach, but they provide a shuttle service if you need it (otherwise it's a 3 minute walk, which isn't too bad). However, that beach is not really the best swimming beach in town anyway and we ended up not spending much time there. The hotel's pool area is much more relaxing - nice layout with restaurant and bar adjacent. The restaurant tables are placed far enough apart for privacy and the outer ones have a fantastic view of the bay (this whole area is at the highest level up the hillside).

The rooms are quite comfortable and also face the bay. Ours had a balcony - not sure if they all have one so better to check. Nice bathrooms though, very tastefully decorated.

The staff were all extremely friendly, helpful, courteous and prompt. My French is only average, so I was happy that they all spoke excellent English too!

Propriano itself is not a bad place to be based... it's mid-way along the South coast so most of the Southern destinations are about an hour to 90 minutes away. There are plenty of restaurants of varying quality along the main street of the town. A sailing cruise on the bay with a stop to swim in one of the small coves at sunset is also worth doing.

Overall, I'd definitely recommended the Miramar. Would come back if we ever make it to Corsica again...

“Friendly, comfortable, great amenities, a wonderful place.”

One of the best 3-star hotels on Corsica. Beautiful room including bathroom with huge shower, robes and slippers. Most rooms overlook the ocean (and a slightly busy street). Parking lot for the car! Property is terraced on a hillside so very charming stone stairs and pathways.. The gym is large but slightly dated. There is a restaurant which we did not try, but the breakfast (included) is incredible. All the usual items, meats, cheese, pastries, but they will also make any type of omelet you like. Serious value for money at Miramar, with delightfully helpful reception staff.

“Pleasant stop for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

Driving between Ajaccio and Bonifacio, Propriano is about half way. The Miramar is just off the main road. We did not stay at the hotel, but pulled in for lunch. The restaurant is 'al fresco' adjacent to the swimming pool, in a delightful 'chic' setting overlooking the sea to the west and the mountains to the north.

We enjoyed a light lunch of quality (salads, grills etc.). It was quite expensive, particularly cocktails and wine, but the setting was rather special so we thought it was worth it. You may well get an OK to use the pool if you ask...

“Perfect relax!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2011

It is a small hotel with a cosy and friendly feel. Situated on a rocky hill, directly overlooking the bay, you are a few steps away from the sea. To access the beach you need to cross the road (not that noisy after all) and take a few steps down the path leading to the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and speaks a very good English, which is not that common in Corsica, where everyone expects you to speak French! The hotel restaurant has a fantastic terrace and it was a sheer pleasure to dine there, as not only the view is magnificent, but also the food is great. The cuisine is modern, with a slight twist towards fusion cuisine. Very tasty and fresh fish, seafood, as well as delicious local treats served during the themed Corsican night. A nice selection of Corsican wines, too. Breakfast served on the terrace was a perfect start to a day, with a good selection of pastries, home made marmalade, honey etc. One of our favourites things was the swimming pool, reasonably deep allowed you to have a proper swim! The hotel is 10 minute walk from the center of Propriano, good distance for a short walk. We recommend this hotel to those who seek nice, relaxed holidays in very elegant but not oversophisticated surrounding!

“A little hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011

We spent a relaxing 3 day stay at the charming Miramar Hotel. The room was beautiful and comfortable, and our breakfast was delicious! The most special part of my stay was the caring and supportive service we received from the helpful, kind staff. If the hotel was right on the beach it would be perfect!
