This hotel is in a villa located up the hillside about 1/2 mile from the beach (Agosta in Sept. was uncrowded with incredibly clear water) with a spectacular view of the bay and Iles Sanguinaires. We had a lovely and spacious room with a balcony where we could relax and watch the sea. The breakfast buffet, included, offered a variety of pastries, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, etc. A computer was also made available in the breakfast room. The only small negative is that the swimming pool needed cleaning.
Down the hill from the hotel, across the road from the beach is a small section of restaurants, shops, and a post office. Rive Sud restaurant has wonderful fish.
The main part of Porticcio with many more restaurants, shops, the ferry and a tourist office is about a 15 minute drive and another 40 gets one to Ajaccio. We took the ferry to Ajaccio and enjoyed a few hours there (Napoleon's house is interesting), but were glad to be staying away from the fray.
The price (139 euros) was at the upper end of our budget, but well worth it.
