I was in Calvi with some friends and they all wanted to stay in town. We booked the Balanea. My room was dirty, the floor looked like it had not been vacummed for ages, there was an old apple under my bed and a lot of hair on the floor. The room smelt. I complained and they moved me to an other room which had loads of cockroaches. The room also smelt bad. They did try to get of the insects. Some of the rooms had great views but it was dirty, smelly and not friendly. Service was none existant. Not recommended!

After a day of biking I arrived in a very cosy room, well decorated. The hotel is near a pedestrian street full of shops. You are within walking distance of the marina.

We had spacious and colourfull twin room (one double and one single bed) on the street side. If you pay extra you can get the seeview. Big bonus was that there was parquet floor not wall to wall carpet.
Hotel is near everything: port, station, shops, restaurants.

We stayed a week at hotel Balanea included in a package tour.
The hotel has probably one of the best locations of all hotels in Calvi.
Right in the middle of everything still with an open view over the bay and the harbour from the rooms.
We had a wonderful balcony with a truely wonderful view. We could sit here for hours and watch the yachts and the people passing by on the promenade.
The room was maybe a bit small. Everything has been redecorated to a modern look with quite bright colours.
Bathroom was clean and had a shower.
The breakfast was very french and minimalistic and was served in the breakfast room that unfortunately not has a view over the sea, as a matter of fact it doesnt have any windows at all. But there was a large beautiful painting on one of the walls.
You are also right on the narrow shopping street with small cosy shops so its not a long distance for shopping.
The beach is situated some 400-500 meters further away outside town but it is in within walking distance.
You should go here and book a seaview room with a balcony and you wont get disappointed with the view. Be prepared to get a very modern design of the room and that breakfast is quite simple.
I do recommend this hotel close to everything and not situated outside the city center like many other hotels in Calvi.
