The place oozes potential. The current owners make a good living operating 7 months a year on a B&B basis as Calvi is seasonal. If you ask for a bottle of wine it has to come from their own house. The bar is rather badly stocked to say the least.
Giving that Calvi is " JUMPING " with trendy bars and restuarants now wonder the owners dont want to stand over a hot stove cooking a very few meals.
If it was mine however I would offer a full bar sevice with snacks during the day.
Book a seaview room and you will be overawed.
The pool area is just superb. I would buy this place if it came on the market!

My husband and I had a very nice stay at Saint Erasme. The hotel and rooms are spotless and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was served in a lovely garden and was adequate with coffee, tea, juices, fruit, ham, cheese, breads, and pastries; however, it was a bit pricey at 14 Euros. Be sure to get a room on the front overlooking the sea where the view is spectacular. The road runs in front, but we heard no noise whatsoever. There is access to the internet for a charge. Parking is free. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but it has a nice pool. There is a 10 min walk into town for sightseeing, beach, and restaurants, but it is a lovely walk along the sea. We would definitely stay at Saint Erasme again!

I was really surprised that this hotel got some good reviews. Calvi itself is absolutely great, but I would advise anyone against staying in this hotel. We had to stay there for one night recently, for which we were charged 124 euros for a standard room. When we arrived, the male receptionist was incredibly rude, and the room was horrible - really small and pokey. I also got bitten by some insect in the bed while I was asleep. There is a female receptionist who was much nicer to us the next morning, but in general - I really would not recommend this place.

The St. Erasme is a pleasant 3 star hotel situated facing the sea and Revellata lighthouse in Calvi. The view from the hotel is lovely and it is about a 5-10 minute walk downhill into town (depending how fit you are).

We booked a superior sea view and balcony room at 142 euros, it was spacious and clean, nicely decorated and suited us fine. Would have slept three people. There was some traffic noise so if you are a light sleeper you may notice this. Ample car park which is always handy in Calvi. The St Erasme is also a few minutes walk from, in our opinion, the best restaurant in Calvi, the U Fanale so that is a definite plus. The swimming pool looked good.

Negatives - the balconies are not private and we had heavy smokers next to us, the smoke drifting into the room at times - but the hotel can't do much about that. Also in common with lots of other hotels in France we had a large bathroom with a bath and the shower was one of those annoying telephone handle things you have to use sitting in the bath, or risk getting water everywhere if you stand up and use it. Why they don't put a holder for the shower attachment on the wall together with a shower screen on the bath I have no idea. There was no Internet connection in our room.

Finally the staff at reception were very friendly at all times so no complaints there. The door keys do hang up in rather an open position so we did not risk leaving our keys on reception. The hotel is however very quiet and the bar rarely open so if you are looking for a lively hotel with convivial bar, the St. Erasme won't be for you.
