With a couple of friends of mine, we are travelling to Ios the last 7 years all the way from Amsterdam. We used to stay anywhere we could find a room. SInce 2005. Then accidentally we've been sent to villa mata due to some kind of mistake with the bookings, an other hotel did. We never changed a place to stay in the island. Everything is so close and yet the place is so quiet (not when we are there anyways) and so hospital. The guy who owns the place is an amazing dude who gives another dimension to the standards of the typical reception. We could have our beds cleaned and clean towels every day if we wanted to. Barbeque facilities and a nice kitchen helps you keep your budget low and meet new people and have fun with. 35 euros / per person-night is hell of a price in Greece of 2009 when everyone else may ask you around 50 during july and august. I don't really know how could it be better. I suggest you at least to give it a try if not making it a permanent stop of your trip.

loved it people nice friendly lambros met us at port .rooms good size clean .in a good place for the beach not far from village caught bus up then walked down donkey track back .were told dont go if over 25 well we are in late 50s and we loved it didnt stay long but would definatly go again

The Best week of my life. I don't know what to write from all my experience. I am 19 years and i went in ios with my 3 best friends.The people who has the rooms where perfect ( lampros and xini i think). All day we were in the beach 20 meters from the room and we were having fun in the sea and with the millions girls who were in the island. At the evening we were eating pork souvlaki wich we were grilled in the garden of the hotel. I hope to go again next year and having so much fun. ios i love you cu again.

I think that it is one of the most lovely places i have every been!!!The rooms are very confortable, clean and the people very friendly and always prompt to help you. The most amazing thing is the yard full of flowers and trees. The place is very close to the port and to the bus station so you do not have to have a transportation mean. I believe that you will love it and definately enjoy it!!!!!
