Francesco and staff were overly welcoming and helpful; picking us up from the ferry, helping to carry our obnoxious suitcase up a lot of broad blue and white stairs, and doing their best to accommodate anything we needed. rooms and bathrooms aren't the most practical but no less so than any other i experienced travelling through Europe or Greece. Francesco and his staff are extremely helpful friendly and lively. A perfect place for anyone between the ages of 16 and 30 who are look for a comfortable easy, cheap and beautiful place to stay. Clean enough, cleaned every other day and feels very safe. Location couldn't be any better, near all the nighttime clubs and bars (far enough not to hear, close enough to be able to easily stumble back) close to the bus station and gorgeous beaches, restaurants and supermarket.

This was the ultimate hostel, close to shops, bars, clubs and food. Has an amazing sunset view, friendly staff and the rooms were clean. Only annoying part was no shower head (although standard throughout Greece) and we arrived at the tail end of the season and had a ball! Francesco who runs the place is great, highly reccommend to any young people wanting a fun yet also relaxing holiday in Ios.

had the best time at francescos - met heaps of people and party hard, and I got sick and needed to sleep for a few nights but this wasn't a problem .. didn't hear any noise!! the staff are friendly and the only problem we had was that our lock was tempermental - took us about 15 minutes to unlock our room but we thought we were doing something wrong until we finally asked about it and Francesco himself came to fix it within 5 minutes. fantastic place - would definitely return!!

We recently stayed at Francesco's hostel in Ios, thinking it was going to be a great time to party and relax by the pool. Especially after hearing so many fantastic reviews about the hostel. Unfortunately we had money stolen from our wallets, whilst out of the room and was threatened that if we did not leave our room before 11pm and go to the bar, we would have to re-assess our accommodation. Be careful with your belongings, when we first arrived, a girl was explaining to reception she had money stolen from her room. We found it a bit strange that money would be stolen, and thought it was ignorant to leave money lying around anyway, but there is actually a cleaner who comes into your room and gives you fresh towels and mops a whole square on the floor. They also dispise people having drinks in their rooms, and you will definitely get a phone call asking you to leave the room and come down to their bar, where the drinks are incredibly watered down and overpriced. They also do not tell you at check in that there are residential areas behind the hostel, obviously anyone with this information would have respected it and not been loud past a decent hour. I would recommend staying here for a max 2 nights, the pool and rooms were lovely but the staff are rude and unfriendly.
