Our usual hotel for the NEC was a bit tired last time we visited and was asking for more than the Day's Inn. We'd read some positive reviews before we booked. Pleased to say our stay matched those reviews. Car parking was easy. And FREE. Our room was at the end of the corridor next to the stairs - but no clashing door noise. We had the window open and occasionally could hear a lorry engine etc in the services. Lovely spacious modern room with a double bed and a single (just two of us so ample space). We opted for the continental breakfast and were expecting a 'happy meal' bag left at the door with a tub of orange you can't drink from, plastic spoons etc. We were greeted by the very pleasant receptionist delivering breakfast on a tray - deluxe yogurts, cereal of choice, croissants, apples and bottles of orange juice. And real bowls and cutlery. We'll definitely be back.
Eating out is a car journey if the Welcome Break services don't appeal. The food there is inexpensive and ok for somewhere to eat rather than dine.
One word of advice, as this is part of the motorway services complex you may have to drive a junction past and come back on yourselves - however the services are labelled Northbound and Southbound on a bit of road that runs very definitely east-west - so best to pull through the first Corley services you come to just in case. About 15 minutes by motorway from NEC - not right next door but not a hard drive with the sat nav.
