Stayed at the Sachsengang Hotel for one night as I had an early flight and thought it would be great and relaxing for my family before next days flight. The staff at the Hotel simply didn't gave a damn about anything, incompetent and useless. We ordered a family room and they couldn't even get us the key for the rooms. The pool is small and rather deep (1.5m) didn't worked for my small kids which where rather dissapointed as I promised them a pool to play in. No idea about the food as there wasn't a soul in the restaurant at dinner time - well I guess thats all you need to know about their food. No elevator to the rooms, hauling two kids and 6 suitcases by myself through the length of the Hotel up the stairs wasn;t much fun either - of course no help was offered. The whole town of Gross-Enzersdorf is beyond boring on top of it. As a final straw the reception couldn't even figure out how to check us out in the morning - what a joke this hotel is would never stay there again. The fridge in the room was so loud that nobody could sleep.Pay a bit more and stay in Vienna proper instead.

A very nice hotel in a quiet location, excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms and beds, friendly lobby and bar. Indoor swimming pool and sauna also not to complain. The only minus was the internet access which sometimes functioned under the usual west european standard. Generally very pleasant stay and to recommend to all looking for relax.

The Am Sachsengang does have its issues (no gym as advertised, just a pingpong table; no in-room Internet and you must pay by the hour to go online in the lobby; location just outside the most distant suburb with no easy access to city center). But the French-language review of the restaurant posted here is totally unfair. I'm glad I chose to ignore it. The wine selection is excellent, the chef clearly pays careful attention, and particularly the fish is very well prepared. If people from France don't want to eat cuisine with an Austrian touch, they shouldn't go to Austria. Please don't let that review be your deciding factor about this hotel. You won't be disappointed by the restaurant.

It had to be just an accomodation for one night, traveling to Innsbruck. And it began like a paceful evening in front of the fireplace... intimacy... after me and my friend had the whole swimming-pool for us. I have simply forget... till Herr Foster - the very gentle man from the front desk came and puted on the table a candle, a flower and 2 glasses of champagne... "What are these for?" - I asked. He smiled ,brought a newspaper and puted the finger on a title... " Happy Valentine's Day "...
