“Clean hotel, helpful staff, good location as a base to tour Lake Garda.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

The hotel is a short walk to the town centre and the lake and a good base from which to tour Lake Garda and the area. The train station is closeby. Rooms and bathrooms are clean with good linens. The staff, especially Sarah, were very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Decor is a bit tired. Fresh apples in the lobby were a nice touch. The hotel is located on a traffic roundabout, which was quite noisy at times. Breakfast was adequate, with the occasional home-made addition.

Room Tip: A room in the back might be less noisy.

“Okay... not great, not terrible”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

This was an okay hotel to use as a base to visit other areas.

The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, very pleasant to deal with.

The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable. Some of the rooms are quite dark (some in fact have no windows at all, or very small windows that don't allow for much light) whilst other rooms are much brighter with balconies.

Location is okay for a base hotel. It's a short (five minute) walk into the main tourist area, though the immediate surroundings are not of interest (being on a main road).

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room- they are much better lit.

“overpriced and noisy location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

We booked this hotel as a place to relax and chill for a few days after a fortnight visiting the cultural centres of Italy. Having read the description and seen the photos of the hotel on various sites, we were expecting to be able to sit out in the green and pleasant gardens in the quiet location of the hotel. How wrong we were.
The hotel is actually situated right on the junction of a number of busy roads, with only the pavement between it and the traffic. The garden mentioned in the official description is in fact two small terraced areas either side of the main entrance, just about accommodating a swing seat and a small table apiece, which are obviously provided as smoking areas. They are not areas in which you can sit and relax comfortably, given the fumes from the ashtrays and traffic and the lack of space.
The room itself was ok, although there were no seats to sit and relax in, and the AC was efficient, but the bathroom was small, shabby and tired and really in need of replacing. The shower in particular was cramped with a nasty shower curtain on runners which needed a good clean. The carpets throughout were clean and in good condition.
Even with the windows and shutters closed, the noise from the traffic throughout each night of our stay was loud enough to keep us awake. This was much worse than any noise from the places we had stayed in the centres of Rome, Florence and Venice.
The staff were pleasant enough. Breakfast was available but the food was all of the cheapest brands available and the choice wasn't great.
This was the second most expensive hotel at which we stayed in Italy (twice the price of a lovely boutique hotel in the centre of Rome) and I did not feel that the prices were at all justified. Had we been able to cut short our stay I would have done so.

“Excellent service and friendly staff”

My husband and I spent one night here in late June and wished we could have spent more time. The room was booked through Freedom Treks, a part of our seven day bike adventure. We had just spent five hours on a ferry crossing beautiful Lake Garda and arrived at the hotel rather late although the walk from the ferry landing and resort area was short, just five minutes or so. Sara quickly checked us in and gave us an excellent restaurant recommendation for the evening. The room was very clean, cool and quiet. Breakfast was delicious: coffee made to order, cheese, meat, fruit, yogurt, eggs and pastries. Sarah and her staff made us feel at home.

“Great place to stay”

What can I say? The rooms are very basic, but very clean, and the breakfast is tasty. The staff is wonderful, very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help. Sara held our luggage for us after we checked out so that we could take the afternoon to explore the Lake, she arranged for a taxi to pick us up from the train station when we missed the last connecting train, and she was nothing but very warm and hospitable. The location is just right - a pleasant walk through town takes you to the beautiful lake shore, and the train station is a bit of a hike when you have luggage (as it is mostly uphill) but still relatively convenient. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
