The hotel is located on the shore of the lake, a rarity in this city. road divides hotel into two parts. They are connected by an underground passage. Parking is big and free. At night the gates are closed at the castle. But you have the code to open them. Hotel has a small swimming pool.
We stayed at this hotel for three nights. Our room was on the ground floor. Without air conditioning. Clean, but very modestly.
Our family stayed at V.T. Vo several times in July/September and although it is rather basic we enjoyed every day of our stay and had no problems at all. The VT staff is very friendly and helpful indeed. Thanks the staff on reception we managed to get visas on our own. The apartments itself are big enough, clean, modern and has all the facilities we needed. There are beautiful views available from majority of apartments - balcony makes your stay especially enjoyable. Kitchen is rather modest has everything we needed. Parking is available and free of charge, what is an advantage.
There was a beautiful view from our balcony (we had one of the pool area 'C' type apartments). As the other review says the pool was on the other side of the road, there is an underpass leading to/from either side so this was not a point at all. Swimming pool is small and cute, there are sun-beds and shower near by. There are enough space within the Villagio area for children to play around apartments, play yard for kids, small football field and even tennis court - good place for families with kids, what may be a cause of noise in a high season. There was also very easy access to the lakeside which had fantastic views. Entrance/exit gates are locked at night for security but you are provided with a code for 24 hour access.
We rent a car, so parking is a big plus, just in high season when the places around are very busy, so it would take time and money to keep your car in the cities parking lots. Dezensano centre is a couple of kilometres down the road for food/shopping, walking distance, so you have to take it into account if you have little ones and have to rely on public transport.
Finally, it is one of the best places for holidays for our family in the North of Italy and a very nice place to stay in general, I am sure it is perfect for families with kids, young couples and people without any special requirements.

We stayed here in July 2007 and we were really very disappointed. The place was over-priced, £91a night it worked out as. No air conditioning and a tiny little room and little hob cooker with no OVEN, terrible. The restaurant is awful, the food is bad and the portions are small. The little shop is very over priced. After 8pm at night you can't sit outside to enjoy the atmos because the place gets swarmed with flys, my wife christened the place 'bug villa' and the name stuck. The staff were generally ok but it would sometimes take 30 mins to get served because they insist on picking up the phone rather than dealing with customers standing in front of them, very bad attitude. I wouldn't return here ever and I would recommend anyone considering staying not to, there are plenty of decent hotels which would be cheaper and a good deal closer to the centre of Desenzano.
We stayed at the Vo in May 2006 and although it was quite basic we had no major problems. The apartment was large, clean and modern (although the plumbing was a bit smelly!) and had all the facilities we needed (but I do think our apartment had recently been built, so there maybe older style ones). Kitchen was tiny but again had everything we needed.
There was a great view from our balcony (we had one of the lakeside 'E' type apartments). As the other review says the pool was on the other side of the road, but can't understand why they say they had to cross the road as there is an underpass leading to/from either side so this was not a problem at all. There was also very easy access to the lakeside which had good views. Entrance/exit gates are locked at night for security but you are provided with a code for 24 hour access.
Because we were there in May, we had no problem at all with crowds or noise - but can't say what it would be like in high season. We took our car and found parking OK, but wouldn't like to take a car in high season when the place is busy, also the town is a couple of miles down the road for food/shopping, so might not be great if you have little ones etc. and have to rely on public transport.
We only dealt with the staff on check in, but found them to be helpful and polite, so no problems there.
All in all, not a bad place to stay.
