Just come back from a week at the Palace Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It's only 25mins from Verona airport. The hotel is immaculate, staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was buffet style which consisted of cereals, fruit, yogurts, cheeses, ham, tomatoes, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausages, bacon, bread, bread rolls, toast, pastries, jams & honey. There isn't a restaurant but who wants to eat in a hotel when there are so many lovely restaurants in both Desenzano & Sirmione. The bar serves a few snacks which is all you need at lunchtime. The room was lovely and had a balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The safe in the room is free to use and you just put in your own code. The hotel is situated between Desenzano and Sirmione. A car would make life easier but you can ask at the reception and the hotel's shuttle bus can be made available for you during the day. We did walk to Desenzano in the evening but a stroll can take 40-45mins. Taxis are a little on the expensive side. The average cost back to the hotel from Desenzano was 12-14 euros. Guests mainly seemed to be from Italy, Germany & Austria. A brilliant week.

The hotel is nice, very clean and looks very new. The pool was lovely, the rooms were a good size all with balconies over looking the lake. The roof top pool wasn't open when we were there which was a shame. The breakfast in the mornings was a bit bland, not much choice. The bar menu wasn't very extensive, we got bored of eating there and on the 3rd day decided to start going out for lunch. They don't have a restaurant for dinner. Make sure you put all your belongings in the safe as we had money stolen from our room on the first day, put a bit of a downer of the holiday.
If you aren't planning on hiring a car, don't stay here. We had to drive everywhere, there are no restaurants or shops within walking distance, it's in the middle of 2 towns and unless you want to walk 45 minutes in either direction you will have to get cabs/buses. We drove into Sirmione nearly every day, we loved Lake Garda and would stay in Sirmione if we ever go back, it was beautiful and there are lots of restaurants there.

Happened to come across this hotel on the internet. The hotel is as good as it looks on their website. It is a new hotel really clean with large rooms and balconies and an exceptionally helpful staff. The managers and receptionists are really helpful and welcoming. There is a lovely clean pool and the views from the 2nd and 3rd floors are fab. Breakfast is a really nice selection. I would agree that a car is almost essential but this hotel is highly recommended. A special thanks to Anja,the receptionist from Wales, who helped and advised us on our initial booking.

just returned after a week at the palace hotel really friendly staff ,very new hotel so all in great condition, nice pool and gardens good location to see lake ,a car will be an advantage overall very enjoyable stay many italians stay here not to many brits but all was fine ,by car 5 mins sirmeone v nice
