The Magnolia is a lovely hotel - friendly staff, good food, comfortable & spotless rooms. The pool area is attractive and there are lots of sunbeds and patio tables/chairs. The beach is a short walk away - 10 minutes or so - and what a beach! A mile and a half of flat, wide and clean sand (the beach is cleaned and raked every night)
We stayed at the Magnolia before the season had taken off, so can't comment on entertainment etc that might be provided - we were a large group, so we made our own entertainment!
The only drawback to this hotel is its location. If you have a car there's no problem. I f you're fit & healthy, then the 20-25 minute walk to Vieste will pose you no problems. We found it a bit tiring to walk back after a morning's sightseeing, plus the temperature had risen by a few degrees. I dread to think how uncomfortable it would be in the full strength of summer.
This area has not been discovered by the British - if you don't speak Italian it will be assumed you're German! It's a bit of a trek from Bari airport but the Gargano area is beautiful and well worth a visit.
