it's a wonderful place, waned in the nature and pretty close to the sea, a blue sea with white sand....the staff is gentle and always avaiable for every kind of request. The restaurant....wow, it's someting you can't explain just writing, you have to try with it. There is a fantastic swimmingpool, and if you have the possibility, try to arrive there by elicopter, it's a fanciful experience....so enjoy!!!!!!

We stayed here for my birthday last year.
Firstly the map provided on many booking websites is useless. You MUST buy a good road map. Our journey from Bari took 6 hours there as we got lost so often, but only 2 on the way back- with the aid of a map!

Secondly this is out of Vieste centre and up a very twisting road. The road looks picturesque but there are pigs, cows and sheep and their droppings everywhere! From reading the blurb we thought that we'd be able to run, but it was difficult as very hilly and also a bit scary with the big animals around. The hotel rents out alot of the land that it owns to the farmers so there is not much exclusive land. A big pool which is nice, but the owner insisted on talking about Italian banks whilst I was trying to swim.

The hotel owner was very, very bizarre. We arrived (after our epic journey) and he insisted on showing us his house with expensive lights he'd had installed and his new chairs that he had bought. No sense of customer service at all- it was like being badgered by an eccentric old uncle.

This extended to breakfast which was meant to be between 08h00 and 10h30 I think. When we were heading out on our runs he would try to wheedle us into having our breakfast earlier so that it fitted better with the cleaning schedule. But since the breakfast was only dry biscuits and coffee it really wasn't worth waiting for.

Vieste centre is amazing. Dragone restaurant is fab, but everywhere was great for food and drink. Being out of the town centre meant that we couldn't drink much as we had to drive back (also very irritating).

Rooms were little cabins built into the hillside. Really pretty views and sounds of sheep grazing. Quite dark rooms tho' and not that special.

The hotel bills itself as a 5 star. It isn't at all. The prices are also reflective of this. If you think of it as a 2* and avoid the very odd owner (Mario) then you'll be alright.

I would really recommend going to Puglia and Vieste, but I would stay elsewhere next time.
