“good value, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

We booked into this Hotel at the last minute as our camping plans had fallen through and we needed somewhere to stay at short notice. It was by far the cheapest hotel we contacted in Vieste (out of about 5 or 6) and we wer not expecting much. However the hotel was clean, the room was a great size, the staff were really friendly and parking was not a problem despite its GREAT location in the heart of the Centro Storico. Breakfast (included in the price) was very good. The only down side was that the rooms weren't very sound proof but it is in a quiet part of town and, fortunately, our neighbours weren't up all night partying!

“Absolutely wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2010

This hotel is European in flavor with the rooms that are clean and well apointed. The room we had (#207) has a queen size bed with a loft with three single beds. The desk staff and maids were friendly and helpful. The rooms were always clean. There is no restaurant because it is surrounded by excellent restaurants and pizzerias. The rooftop terrace was the place we gathered for a nightcap and palnning for the next day. It is right in the middle of the old town and about a 15 minute walk to the beach. This is a great hotel.

“Prettily situated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2008

The hotel overlooks the sea and there seemed to be ample parking out the front. It's a short walk to everywhere yet it's quiet because away from the main drag.

Our room was inexpensive but so depressingly awful and basic.
We had a double bed but there were two chunky timber single bunks nailed into the opposite wall. Bathroom was minute.

The lounge/bar and breakfast room were dark and totally lacking any ambiance.

But it was all clean, and I'm sure it would be a great alternative for a holidaying family.

  • Liked — Well sited.
  • Disliked — Deadly dull and basic

“Fantastic little hotel & excellent location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2008

We chose this hotel for the excellent price and location. It was the only hotel in Vieste for the time of our visit that offered the best price, and thankfully a great experience too. For 65 euros we had accommodation and breakfast – total per night. The other hotels at the time of our travel that were opened charged that price approx per person. We found out during our stay that this hotel used to be where oil was produced and has been restored to now be a hotel. It is a small hotel

ARRIVAL/DEPATURE
We used the coastal road via Mattinata to arrive to Vieste, by car. On arriving into Vieste there were signs leading to the hotel, they are small so easy to miss. We were able to find a car spot just outside the hotel each day for free. This was in low season, so if one was to stay here in high season the possibility of a spot outside would be not as easy, however the hotel offered a car spot in a garage 1km away and offered to shuttle us to the hotel which we didn’t need to do as we had luck with the car spots. We left Vieste using the coastal road via Peschici to proceed along the coast north. The signs are easy to follow to Gargano/Vieste and both roads offer wonderful scenery to/from Vieste. The road via Peschici still has evidence of the big fires of 2007.

RECEPTION/BOOKING
We sent an email by the hotel’s website to make the booking and when we did not hear back we phoned. Lucky we did as at the time the hotel’s website/email were experiencing technical difficulties. We confirmed the details by our conversation and on arrival all was in order. The reception always has an employee on duty and through the night as well. The staff are very friendly locals and we felt very welcome during our time with them. We had to hand the key in each time to reception on leaving the hotel, there was a small sign is by reception requesting so however the staff were relaxed. As usual with check in to Italian hotels identification was requested and we used our id cards that were returned to us later.

ROOM
The room was on the first floor up about ten steps. The hotel also has rooms on the ground level but they are street level and miss the view. Our room looked out towards the Vieste lighthouse, the streetscape of the older part of Vieste and partial water view as well. Our room was very clean and consisted of split level; entry level had bathroom and double bed with steps up to the loft level with two single beds, ideal for the family. We had ample luggage area in our room, wardrobe, dresser with mirror/chair, bedside tables and black out shutters to keep the room dark if need be. The bathroom had good water pressure and ample hot water. The only thing we needed to do was turn the water to fill the WC on each time as if we left it on it made a slight noise, but it was no problem. The TV in the room offered satellite channels in English, French, German and of course Italian as well as others. Amazing in this quaint little hotel such technology found! We had a phone call arrive for us during our stay and we had to take it at reception as there was a problem with the phone in our room but it was later fixed. The bed was very comfortable linen changed each day by the cleaning service. Amenities provided were little soaps and soap/body wash sachet. Fantastic view from the window in the shower!

FACILITIES
The hotel offered a buffet breakfast included in the price. The staff member asked each morning the type of coffee we would like and then we helped ourselves to the range of buffet including; biscuits, cereals, croissants, biscuits, cake, jams/butter with bread, yoghurt, and juices. It was a good basic selection to start the day and the restaurant on the reception level was from 8am however the staff were relaxed to let us start a little earlier. The hotel has brochures and signs to organise tours, most start from May and run until early September.

AREA
Visiting Vieste is always a delight for us as it offers so much. Outside the hotel there are characteristic restaurants and bars, lovely walks to be enjoyed around the waterfront, in the main square of the town, referred to as the ‘villa’ by locals, towards the port area of Vieste and along the esplanade Pizzomunno. The town comes alive from May to September and the peak months are July & August. Vieste can be enjoyed with or without a car. The beaches for the town are easy to reach by walking and they are sand beaches, pebble beaches are located a short drive away. The old part of Vieste is where this hotel is located and so lovely and scenic to walk around. In summer months day drips can be taken on boats to Croatia, Isole Tremiti islands and the water caves nearby.

  • Liked — The location & convenience to the town
  • Disliked — Nothing!

“Great Location”

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and loved it.

The hotel is only small and the the rooms were spotless and the hotel was in a great location on the peninsular. There is also a lovely roof terrace from which you can look out over the bay and even have your breakfast or a picnic on.

Vieste is a stunning little town in this part of Italy with some of the best Pizza!

  • Liked — It was clean and tidy and comfortable
  • Disliked — The breakfast wasn't anything to write home about
