The end of October is probably not the best time to visit, as Varese is a seasonal town for tourism, and finding a restaurant open on a Sunday night was - difficult. However, the "free" room service on Saturday night made up it. Yes, "free". (as is the WiF, parking, and breakfast). They brought up a wonderful meal from the kitchen, along with a nice Italian wine. What you're paying for at this hotel is stately ambiance, and close proximity to the town square. The suites aloft (301 or 302) are good choices, but require climbing stairs. The breakfast is worth noting. It had everything you'd want or could ask, including eggs to order, included in the room. Staff is friendly, and a perfect, reasonably priced launching pad for touring the lake regions (Como, Locarno, etc.).Va Bene.

in combination with the new architecture it is very simple and beautiful- unique- the rooms are very comfortable, bathroom are in a size that you like to span your time in it, comfortable showers etc....
I enjoyed the time of my staying from 09-10 Nov 2011.

This is our fourth of fifth time visiting this wonderful establishment. The location is perfect for seeing the magnificent area, including the lake region. The hotel is really beautiful, but it is the staff that makes this experience truly special. As others have noted, the breakfast is really exceptional. You couldn't ask for a better hotel experience, whether it is for a long or short stay.

We recently spent two nights at the Art Hotel, & were very impressed by its friendly staff & stylishness. It's a beautifully renovated building in a quiet location just outside Varese centre. Unusually, too, the rooms are air-conditioned, which was a blessing during the heatwave! At 105 euro, breakfast, minibar (& baby bed) included, we felt that it was excellent value for money. We would definitely return next time that we're in the vicinity.
